Default What helix?

I want to try some different helixes to see for myself what the seat of pants is like.
700 switchbacks come with 42 helix, remember this is a team clutch not button.
600 Switchbacks have 56/42/36 helix.
I'd like to bring my rpms up about 400 rpms, what should I try? I'm currently running 10-68 weights.

Your best bet is to do some research into these two forums, just remember that any of the 700 engines prior to 2007 are completely different than yours. There are a lot of "700" threads on HCS but most are for the 755.

i cant tell you the helix to use, just that if you want to raise rpms, then get rid of the 42 degree finish angle, the helix on the 600 might raise your rpms to where you want them,
on the polaris button clutch i personally like lots of weight and small helix with the twins.

^^ Should I try pulling more weight? It thought about trying 70 gram weights with a different helix, what do you think of that Madcow? I'll buy the clutch parts from you if you can hook me up.

What HP does yours put out? I'm only running 66's in mine... but that might change with the new gearing. I know, different 700... but I can't imagine yours would be that much different even with EFI.

Yes it is an er helix. 145HP I can pull the 68s but always wondered if I could pull 70s with a different helix.
Where are you suppose to be for HP Bryan?

139 hp stock. But with my gearing (19/42) I should be putting about 225 to the snow.

arent you suppose to have 66's stock and then with the pipe you are able to pull 68's?

if you are looking for more rpm then going to a smaller helix will let the rpms come up some, the team clutches dont respond to tiny changes like the old button clutches do. i would think something like a 54-38/54-40 helix might get rpms up? it will pull a little harder out of the hole but then the smaller finish angle should let the engine rev some?
