200k is a lot of miles for any vehicle, lot of wear parts are reaching the end of their life. Not only that but most gasoline engines don't last much longer than 200k(if that)

on a positive, it should have the Vortec 4.3 in it which is much peppier than the old 4.3

In great condition, no rust, everything working, 4x4 I'd say maybe $3k-$4k

$2000 at the MOST. You can find fullsize trucks with that mileage for less. Good engine though. What are they asking for it?

I really hate to do this but I have to agree with Harry about the pricing, especially with that many miles. I looked at alot of trucks for sale this past winter and like Harry said, you can get a full size for less than $3000 with less miles.

2wd, 200k, V6? Max $1000

When MX86 was looking for a new vehicle last year(or the year before?) he sent me link that some dealers wanted $15k for 2002ish s-10's with almost 100k on them. Price jacked a little? lol

To go from 4x4 to a 2wheel drive and it has a bizzlion miles on it, this is a REAL no brainer. License or not.

while a lot of 4.3s and 5.7s get to 300,000 any dealer will say 200 is excessive for resale.
My 350 has 280,+ and runs 5000 before it is down a qt.
If none of the suspension or steering has been touched all you have is a good body. the 4.3 - 2 wheel would make a nice quick daily driver and a 350 motor is an easy swap if you want to have fun!

I'm with the majority here. If your current ride is still running and driving well, keep running it!

The S10s are not known for any reliability with milage that high.

I would argue with the 2wd not working out for the winter, I drove a 2wd s10 for a year in high school during the winter and drove it many summers after that for a DD. You can't beat a s10 for mileage in a pickup especially if it's a 4 cyl. If you throw some sand in the box and some snow tires you have a pretty decent vehicle. The only big problem, is that the s10s don't track as wide as a full-size pickup.

200K miles probably is a little toward the high side, but both the s10s I had 150K+ miles on them and didn't seem to have too many issues. If it's a cheap pickup I wouldnt' be afraid of it, depending on the condition of the current ride.
