I have to agree with FL on the 2wd, i had a old dodge that got sand bad treatment. It did fine as long as I stayed outta the hills and valleys. Now i dont know about the 4.3, but from what I've been told about them from chevy lovers is that they are the equvilent of the mopar 318. It boils down to do you want to spend money or not, or if the toyota is worth fixing.
