do this first......take brake cleaner or carb cleaner and sprittzer and wipe the clutch clean...dont melt or use to much...let it evaporate dry....wipe faces.....then make sure belt sits 1/16 to flush with the top of the secondary sheaves.....that squeeling is most likely crudola from old belt on sheaves and or riding too high on sheaves.....flush is ideal.....because then you get top speed from it being lower down on diameter at WOT....thats why you get TURBO POWER right before an old belt blows.....its sitting lower....the range is from 1/16 over to 1/16 below actually.....but at extremes it can be 1/8 but you losing power then and you'll get passed on a MANURE FIELD....AHAHHAHHAHAHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

i just went back to the store where i got the belt and they gave me another one. They said the one they gave me might not good because it was meant for bigger engines.

Did it solve the problem? Can you see a ton of black junk on your clutches (on the inside where the belt runs)?

Absolutely no lube on clutches. It causes belt dust to stick to stuff and gum up.

Wash it first with dish soap and hot water to remove the releasing compound from the manufacturing process. This will allow the new belt to grip better and will reduce the amount of residue that will build up on the faces.

Do not just put the new belt on and run it hard until the belt has warmed up some.

You need to do a search on how to shim your primary. I don't know that we have anything here, but other sites might have a how-to section. An owner's manual might tell you how to do this, or take a visit to your local dealer (stealer) and ask them how it's done.

I'm assuming that most will tell you to bring the sled in so they can look at it, but it's worth a try to see if they have any hints for you.

i just put my old burnt belt on and no squealing only the vibrating and thumping noise.....so im guessing its in the belt problem...I don't think the store will take the belt they were already not happy that they exchanged one for me....

If you compare the two belts, side by side, do you see any differences in length, width, or wear?

they look the same....the funny part is that the burnt one is maybe a touch shorter than the new one and does not make any noise.....plus i already have it adjusted to one and i cant go lower....
