Default 1993 Polaris Storm Jetting/Tuning Help

I just picked up a 1993 Storm 750. It has been sitting on a trailer in a garage for the past six years. I drained out the old fuel, and removed a cubic foot of mouse nesting and shat out of the airbox. The carbs are so corroded, that I had to cut all of the cables, and picked up some good used carbs/cables. I cannot even get the old carbs apart, or check the jetting, except for the main jets, or move the mixture/air screws to see what I should set the new ones at. It has 320's for main jets on all three.

I was thinking that the jets should be staggered, with larger jets on the mag side. Does anyone have a good baseline for me? I am in Minnestoa, and it is going to be well below zero for the next week or so, and I do not want to burn it down on the first ride.

The used carbs have 6DH8 needles, 247P4 jet assemblies, and 50 pilots. Will these work for this application, or should I be ordering something else.

Looking for some advice from someone who has run these sleds for awhile, and had lots of experience.

The sled appears to be stock, except for a set of VForce reeds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if its stock go with stock setup till you get some seat time. then work your way down based on your area and conditions.

Default Storm Carbs

That is my problem, as I do not know if the used carbs I bought are stock. I am sure they are VM38s, have not been bored, but do not know what they came off of, so the needle jets/needles may be different. The originals are so corroded that I cannot even find out what was in there, except for the main jets which were 320s. Maybe it does not make that much difference, but just do not want to burn it down. Any idea what I should set the idle screw, and air bleed/mixture screw at for number of turns? I usually run the air screw at 1 turn out on most of the sleds that we have had.

The local dealer was useless, as all they could tell me is that they would have to order the needles, etc., and cannot tell me what number they should be.

Very frustrating.
