Default Does any know how to get the auger out of a snowblower?

Have a 2 stage murry snowblower and the worm gear in the gear case is probably stripped, does any one know how to remove the auger drive section out?

Called a repair shop and they quoted me $500 so if I cant fix it myself I might as well buy a new one for that price.

Take the shear bolts out, remove the outer bearings/bushings and they should just slide right out then.

It did shear the bolts but I think a gear is stripped also since I put new shear pins in it doesnt turn under load.I talked to a guy at a repair shop and he said a common problem on Murray snow blowers.

Yep, 'cause they used aluminum gears in there instead of brass or steel.
