Default comp on a 488 fan

Fixing a 87 industry trail and has 102 psi in both cylinders. Is that too low.

Are you testing correctly?

Both plugs out, throttle wide open and pull until the gauge stops rising (5-6 times).

Yes I used that method for the test. If stock is 120the then 102 isn't bad right?

102 is a bit low, and it could just be your tester that reads low.
If it runs well and starts easily, then it's a non-issue.

Not sure. The complaint is the sled is slow and boggy on the low end but good in top end. But then again I was told the previous owner adjusted the garbs for top end performance.

I have a newer manual

it states the specs on a 97 trail as
main jet 230
pilot 35
air screw out 1.5 turns

a 98 is as follows
main 230
pilot 40
air screw out 1 turn

Your slow speed issues are most likely some dirty carbs or someone prolly messed with the air screws.
I know all 97s were set up rich due to the extended warranty offered. Maybe thats why the specs are diff. I have little info on the old ones but usually there was a decal placed under the hood that had all of the info for the sled.

No but they will be. I will atleast replace the primary spring. The secondary will be up to the owner.
