Default Making a ProX motor into an XC motor

I've got a 2003 ProX motor I'm going to rebuild. Since I have an XC CDI laying around, can I just put XC cylinders on the ProX bottom end and I'll be good to go? The flywheel might also be different, but I'm going off the assumption that the crank is identical and I'll have no problems.

Would I just be better off making a ProX motor? I was just thinking it would be good to have a motor that I could test in my chassis, and/or keep around as a spare for DCUBA while I'm trying to sell it. If it's in ProX form, I've got no pipe or CDI for it, so it wouldn't be much use.

If the pipes were different, it was most likely due to shock towers or chassis differences rather than engine differences.

What I've learned about pipes: Run 'em and watch your wash and plugs. Who cares wtf they were made for. In the 70s and 80s they ran cat pipes on poo engines of totally different sizes.

The cylinders are a different part number, so I thought the port timing was different. I don't think the XC CDI will work if the port timing is different.
