Default Douglas MN Grass Drags

I'm heading down to Douglas MN, just outside of Rochester MN for the Grass Drags, and Swap meet. Tomarrow, Sat the 22 and 23rd.

Usually a lot of Great Vintage sleds racing, and a Great show of the old sleds that made us want to Ride

I hope others will be there, would like to see this event get bigger!!!!

Yep, we could have taken the 70 Impala convertible, of course Ultragirl would drive, we want to be safe.

Then down to the Titty bar ;)

Then relaxed in the Hot Tub. :D

I think I'm going to be there. I'll make sure I wear my new SF shirt so I don't blend in with the crowd.

It's not very big show, maybe half of Princeton.

But I like to be able to watch the races, check out the swap meet, and not feel rushed, or that I missed somethng.

More laid back, kind of like me LOL :D

Had a change of plans since I didn't get a wink of sleep last night.
I'll be staying home today so that I can get some sleep.
I didn't need to spend anymore money anyway.

Maybe next year.

I had a great time 8)

Swap meet was mostly used sleds, would like to see more parts. As with anything some people most really think there stuff is worth a lot.

Bought some raffle tickets, there sure smart puttingthe tickets in the beer tent, between buying tickets for beer and the taps. :D

There was a girl racer, that was in every class, racing ski doo. I think Matt had a pic. of her at Haydays. She would race, win, hit the scale, jump off, and usually there would be another sled sitting there for her to ride. Well one time she was at the starting line, but the sled wasn't. LOL

The announcer down there is great, and they had a real nice speaker system set up, Tunes where just a blasting away. He kept ripping yamaha, saying he can't understand why a 1000 yami is racing a 500 cat, no wonder they win. LMAO. He REALLY ripped the Yami drivers when they got beat by that girl on a ski doo in the final round. He was like: "You guys just got beat by a GIRL, driving a sled half the size". LMAO

Seen a long track cat just about flip, stood it straight up on end, actually seen a few sleds do that.

My puter is runnnnning really sloooow.
But here some more Pics.:

Loud pipe contast, most where in the 110 to 120 DB the AMF won, oh yeah it blew a track.
There where also IDIOTS that where standing there, I wanted to kick there nuts. There was one guy standing right in front of the sled, holding a 1 yr old, with all the smoke, a clutch blows, belt, track, but epecially a sled that was Screaming out 118 DB. Another one, twice had there stroller about 5-10 ft from the pipe, WHAT DUMBASSES. I wish now I would have said something, obviously there to stupid to figure it out.

Loudmouth Johnson sled, Opposing twins, fish pipes, won last winter 120.5 DB, you can feel it hitting your lag about 20 ft away, second pic.

OH Yeah, I was on T.V., you could see my foot, LOL

As you know Terry Kruger and his son where killed last Feb.
His sister came out of retirement to race his sled.

Second pic is the gal that runs in almost every class.

Didn't get many drag pics, was waiting for the Vintage, but it kept getting later, finally left when they just started. still had a 2 hour drive home.

I remember reading about that in the papers, that was just horrible.
Did you get to talk to her? And Is there going to be a memorial ride for them this year?

My understanding is after 9 months the mother is finally going home, but I'm thinking?? she will need 24 hour care for quite awhile.

Last pic. is Terry sister. Racing, hope too see more this year.
