So I was just getting into the motel up in Garden Valley and slipped and fell very wrong on the ice. Spiral fracture on the smaller leg bone, chunk of ankle bone broke off, and torn ligament. Looks like pins and shit in my near future. So far the absolute worst was putting it back into place where the joint was also dislocated.
I went to the appointment today and we now at least have a game plan.
Next week when the swelling is down they can put it back together.
For the spiral break it will be a plate and several screws. For the other break he needs to see it to know if screws are needed there. Then it's a dissolving rubber band thing to hold it together while the torn ligaments part can be rehabbed to hold together.
I hate to jump this far ahead, but I'd be thinking it in your boat. Will you be ready for next season or even be able to ride late season? Hopefully the screws and plate don't mess with you once you get into the snow after a few years. I hope it all works out for ya Darin. And Yes, I'm officially cancelling my April plans to come ride with you.

Smart move on April.
For next season that is my motivation
I will ride next season with Dr. permission.
For years to come with the hardware? I don't know will suggest they use Locktight red or stronger...
Can't work. Schwans has it where my position waits for me. Benefits continue, and I do get all of my pay. So my family is taken care of, and that does make it better.
They are a good company in that respect for sure.
I HATE just sitting on my ass. It would be better to be working.
There were actually 4 different fractures in there.
I got the titanium plate with 12 screws, and the dissolving rubber bad thing to hold it all together while we rehab it back go being able to hold its self
Modern life is often a mechanical oppression and liquor is the only mechanical relief. Let me know if my books make any money and I will come to Moscow and we will find somebody that drinks and drink my royalties up to end the mechanical oppression.
