Default Riley holds off Yammis for the win.

Reuters
Dateline: January 27, 2008
Osakis, MN Head of the Lakes Radar Run

On the sunsoaked ice of Lake Osakis, Riley's first run held up for the rest of the day. With a starting area that looked more like a SnoCross track than a radar run venue, contestants were struggling with the ice conditions. His 122.11 MPH run on the thousand foot track was the speed to beat for the day. He hit the track for his second run and managed to break 121 MPH, but his sled remained by the trailer for the rest of the event. A veritable swarm of Yammis tried mightily to beat his speed... to no avail. One silver RX1 must have tried 15 times to get the fastest speed of the day, but Riley remained on top after the 4-stroke smoke finally cleared. Mookie Brown's former neighbor, Mark Hanson, broke 120 MPH several consecutive times on his heavily modded Yammi, but the 122.11 mark remained untouched.

One GenII XCR 800 went end-for-end on the nonexistant runout past the radar speed trap, but the only severe injury was to the sled. Luckily ZRXPilot's XCR was safely parked at the time, and he was not a victim of poor course conditions. ZRXPilot managed to post a speed of 90.2 MPH on his XCR, which he ran in the Nontraction Class. His speed was good enough to lead his class for awhile, but eventually someone beat it. Pilot managed to hold on to second place for the remainder of the afternoon.

No madcow owes his wife a whole week of make up sex for buying a new crankshaft!!!!!

2 turbo's RX1's and 2 Apex's on the juice couldn't dethrone Riley's lil itty bitty 800cc TWO STROKE TRIPLE!!!!!!!

Default Sad deal with that 800

03 xcr 800 now very much a parts sled. Kid rung his bell pretty good. Another great day on the track. The big gun got beat by the same chick that beat me last year in Hackensack. Radar gun ran low, either that or my gps was off. I had a top speed of 95.1 on gps. Not bad for not having any studs methinks. Beat out two F7's.

wow what great story telling rubi!
way to go guys!!
rich is hooked on radar runs for sure now. no turning back for him!!
I was nervous all day when paul said a turbo yami is only running 115, I have seen what they can do. 177 mph for top speed in 3000'with a full bodied sled, so they are not to be taken lightely.
riley sqweeks out 50 dollars.
you should have offered the money to him to put it twoards another 5 grand in upgrades for the 10 grand sled, the funny thing is that he probably had more into the yami than paul could have sold his truck, trailer and sled for that day.

Thanks everybody. The sled is running pretty decent. Yesterdays track had to of been the worst track I have ever been on. It was rough as hell with about a 200 ft shut down then it was off into the hard rough snow. Hitting the snow at the end at over 120 mph was quite a ride in itself. I was glad to see I didn't have to take you 3rd run. Ripn the guy in the fur hat is a good friend of mine from the area up there.

Just curious Riley, why are you running Mikuni Roundslides? Are they a better drag carb than flatslides?

round slides make better speed run carbs. you can get big round slides, its very expensive to get big flat slides..

I kinda figured it was something along those lines, just seen that many big sleds were running flatslides so I was curious

Here's Riley's second and final run of the day. I think he had to let off it a little bit through the whoop-dee-doo section.

That wasn't a whoop dee doo that Riley ran over, that was one of those slow ass twins that didn't get out of the way quick enough!!!!!! At first I thought it might've been one of the 4 strokers, but they were TOO FAR BEHIND for Paul to run over!!!

Blah blah blah...while they were going crazy with their 120ish runs... the real Yammis were up north Wisconsin running 150+ as well as a few smokers as well.
