CYI hauls the mail!!
so there i was, super bowl sunday. out in a bean field with just me, dork(I named my sled) and the radar. the air was a little raw when the breeze picked up. but warm when it went away, the air was a balmy 28 degrees. dork was having troubles getting going, the snow cover on the ground was very hard, and slick under the skis with good traction under the track. perfect trail track running conditions. as we glared down the field 500 feet to the little black dot called a radar. we at one end. he at another. you could feel the tension.
first run, very boggy no midrange pickup, no off the line power didnt even turn on the radar because he didnt want to go over 50 mph.
drop needles all the way,
great take off, engagement at about 5grand with not much more of a creep until 6500 rpm. felt very strong, radar blinked a 75 mph at me!! rpms jumped to 8700. which means i was right at the limiter point.
change from a straight 34 helix. to a 50-38 dual angle coated helix hole number 3 out of 5.
3rd run. very strong, my reach is now 2" longer than my pre run arms!! rpms are down to about 8500 sceam to a whopping 77 mph!!
change helix to hole number 2
4th run. do some throttle pumping for about the first 25 feet, then at about 20 mph hammer it. rpms jump to a quick 8200 mark, very hard to hold a straight line with the soft spots in the snow. skis are dipping into the soft spots created by tall grass. almost run over radar to another 77 mph run!!
over all i am very happy with 77 mph out of a 600. last year the f-7s and 800s were only running about 72-80 mph. there were some t cats and other "big guys" with modded machines barely breaking 80 mph. so I am excited for this coming weekend. the little bugger is quick though. 700 twins be afraid, be very afraid. cant wait for the second annual PJH run in melrose!!
now just need to fix a couple little water leaks and I think we can get some seat time on a trail somewhere?
