looking to slightly gear down my RMK

my buddies also looking to do the same to his 03 indy classic 700

never swapped gears before so Im not sure

Im assuming i have stock 700 rmk gearing, so anything that drops me down

Currently gearing should be 25t & 40t if my memory serves me right

Do I need chain as well?

If you are going more than +/- 1 tooth, you need to change the chain.

I'll see if I can remember to dig up my old info but I found some good clutching/jetting/gearing set ups for my old RMK (before I started changing engine parts).

Also make sure you get the right width. You should have 15 wide chain and gears, earlier models at 13 wide.

rubi i still have that booster bottle you gave me a few seasons ago... I think it was originally gerbils, but Im still yet to install it on anything

I had a bunch of stuff somewhere, but must have lost it. TM40 mikuni carbs will help throttle response. Drop at least 2 teeth off the top gear and then this is what I was able to find for clutching.

First clutch setup
Primary: 10-62 Weights, Polaris Almond black spring
Secondary: Polaris R12 helix, Polaris silver/gray spring

Second clutch setup
Primary: 10-64 Weights, EPI Red spring
Secondary: Polaris R12 helix, Polaris silver/blue spring
