Saw first snow last Tue or Wed. Don't know if that was the same snowstorm. I was in ND, but I guess it snowed in Alex too. A little late to see the very first flakes, but maybe that's a good thing. If it holds off longer, maybe it unleashes harder.
We saw our first flakes last week as well. Nothing stuck but it must have got Shanes stoke going because he texted from school to tell me lol. Novi snowshow this weekend and we're looking forward to going. Shane is growing way too fast and requres larger gear again this year. He is finally old enough to take the Michigan Snowmobile Safety course too so he will be in class for that all day on Saturday while I seek out the Redbull and Monster girls. See you fuckers SOON!!

Snow is coming down here pretty good for the second time today. Got pretty warm though, so I'd say there's about 2-3 on the ground right now. Sounds like storm totals of 6-8 by the time its all said and done. A wet, heavy base is nothing to complain about! But I do have something else to complain about/announce.
For years, Gerbil and Rubi harassed me to buy another snowmobile after the great SkiDoo debacle of 2007 (or maybe 2008, I can't remember but it is accurately chronicled on SF). That hateful machine made me swear off sled ownership for life, unless a Yami became a possibility. Since I wasn't going to become a billionaire with Hulk's strength any time soon, a Yami wasn't going to be a possibility - and that was a pretty sweet spot for the Mookster to mount an effective defense against DCUBA's strong arm sled ownership tactics.
Fast forward to 2014. DCUBA's board of directors had a meeting and decided they'd change their tactics. First, they'd lure me in with a honey of a rental deal, then POW, the trap would snap close on me. The plan was so simple, I should have seen it coming. After agreeing to an economical Boonditcher rental deal, we headed to the UP and had a great trip. Then, we got back home and the sled was simply left in my driveway while I was in the bathroom and DCUBA sped away.
These days, Mookie's personal economy has just barely clawed its way back to life and DCUBA's at it again! Those 1%'ers never have an economic downturn! Consequently, their sled inventory is always busting at the seams (or in this case Gerbil's garage) and they need to reduce inventory. Just like the have's (DCUBA) to dump their problems on the have not's. When I ask them to please think of Mookie's situation, they tell me that they know better and I should thank them looking out for me.
I guess I will probably just have to take their used iron right up the ass like always. What choice do I have against the 1%? The two stroke exhaust must smell pretty good up there.
I hope Rock sees this - he'd understand my plight!
Unbelievable, you're faulting Gerbil for buying you a spec sled with his own money. Knowing full well that you'll probably be too gay to capitalize on this awesome deal, he still invests his own money in the hopes that someday his brother won't be such an embarrassing homo. Why do all of our attempts to make Mookie's life better always meet such resistance?
What's this 1% shit? We aren't the ones living in The Big City making big city salary. Just because we buy braapers and go on awesome snowsports trips doesn't mean we're rich. It just means we prioritize correctly. Plus, we work so much in the summer there's no time to squander our jing on frivolous bullshit. Then winter comes along and we realize the gov't cheese can only go so far, especially with our trip schedule, so we don't squander much money in the winter either. Yeah, we buy a new POSAC somewhat often, but not nearly as much as a lot of people in the sport. It took me nine years of favorable upgrades before I got a new sled. The next sled I buy will probably be used, so much for being a 1%er.
Did you see how much it might dump in the Big City tomorrow and Tuesday? In the 10% likelihood scenario, you're gonna get 14"! I guess 6-8" is the most likely storm total. We're going to get missed by the brunt of the storm as usual. Gerbil and I might come down to ride the railroad grade and Mack's yard. Better get the Boonditcher and the new POSAC RMK ready.
I will be beyond ready. Sled is getting greased, trailer lights are being fixed, bearings are greased and... the boonditcher is going to a new home! Since going into debt to DCUBA, I've been more than a little worried that my kneecaps are going to get shattered if I don't pay down my balance. So I posted this ad:
Within about 15 minutes, the calls starting coming in. A dude named Craig came over around 2:00 this afternoon and decided to buy it! I can tell he's going to be worthy of the boonditcher because he went WOT right away and has 1%'er buddies that pressure him into bad life choices too. Provided Craig doesn't get cold feet, he's coming with cash at 3:00.
Whatever his name really is, he is the proud owner of a boonditcher pro model! I bet he goes home and does some whipping tonight (he's from Blaine and I think Anoka Cty residents are genetically superior when it comes to snowmobiling. Not true of math though.) It has returned to very near where it was originally purchased by Rubi!
