Holly Crap!!!

I used to have one of them when I was a kid. I think it was the first sled I ever drove.
Your is allot nicer then the one I had. Mine was missing the center grill that covered the carb. The only way we could get the damn thing to start was to spray Ether down its throat. The one thing that I diden't like was the carb is right between your legs, so with the grill missing, everytime the damn sled would backfire it would set your nuts on fire!

You know maybe just maybe, that mite have been the reasion why I became a FireFighter!

That picture was taken last winter. The furthest I drove it was up and down my street than put it back in the garage. I only drive it at vintage rides which I haven't been on for a couple of years. It really is a nice sled for a 72. All origional. Even has a slide rail suspension. This is the only 72 oly I have ever seen with slides. She's a beaut. Studly you couldn't have looked very hard although it did have a Polaris cover on it sitting in my garage.

It's an old thread, it looks like it was screwed up when I changed sites and hosts.

Riley can you re-attach it?

You guys aren't going to believe me but my dad has a 76 299 Olympic that has never been started. He used to sell Doos back in the day and he didn't sell two of his last new sleds. The Oly is one of them.

Flatlander that's pretty cool. Is the motor still free. Does your dads Oly have a slide suspension? mine has about the weardest looking slide suspension that hinges in the middle.

To be honest I haven't looked at the sleds in a couple years. I don't remember what the suspension is like in the sled. Both sleds are still free. The other sled he has is a 76 250 RV. Occasionally someone finds out about them and offers him a thousand bucks for them, but I have a feeling that they will be staying in our family for a long time.
