Default SledNutz forum mini ride?

was wondering if there was any interest in a SledNutZ Mini ride this winter in SW michigan.

there are a few people who are close to that area, and it might be fun to have a smaller ride without all the planning and hassle of dealing with a large group.

i believe there are some members who are fairly familiar with the area.

You know I'm in on this.

The past few years it's been spotty - one town is piled on, the others are empty.

I'm familiar with Cass, Van Buren, and Allegan counties.

GotMud has a "plan" for a ride that he wanted to do last year - maybe this is the year to do it?

Would love to do that, but Michigan is a little to far for me to travel.

My only "plan" is to keep that xcr700 behind me lol.

SW Michigan normally gets tons of lake effect snow. Anyone that wants to drive here is more than welcome to ride right out of my back field. I've got my secret honey holes where there is always an abundance of snow. The only problem with lake effect snow is if it's not cold enough for it to stay it melts fast. Way too many times we get a foot (or more) dumped on us over a few hour span, and it's gone the next day. If I'm at work and the lake effect machine is going to town I plan on riding when I get home because I'm not sure if it'll be there the next day lol. I've also told work I'll be late in the morning lol and take a killer ride before work knowing it'll be gone when I get home. The heater works in my motorhome if someone wanted to camp in it next to my garage even.

I'll go, and there is about 6 or 8 of us usually. I know my bro-in-law and that group would be interested in going again also. If you guys know the places to go and better places to stay. We are just less than 2 hrs away.

Maybe shoot farther north than I'm used to?

Oh, and you may not have to worry about "that xcr-700"... it may be going bye-bye for something a little more wicked.

Wasn't worried. ;)

As far as going further north, I like the cadillac area. I'm not sure if it's too far for some of you. It's about a 2.5 hr drive for me. This will be the 3rd year I've went up there. This year I plan on doing some off trail riding in the area, I want a gps first though. There are tons of trails, I know where there is a hill climb too.

I drove to Houghton Lake last year for an HCS ride, and Cadillac is closer. Probably 5ish hours from me? Not too bad.

Bulldog rides somewhere up there too.

I've thought about going to Houghton Lake. Cadillac is a little closer which made up my mind lol. Either are in a snowbelt so both typically have tons of snow. I'm just used to cadillac is all. Plus I know where the bewber bar is lol.

So are you trying to join the xcr800 club?

i usually ride a little farther north.

gaylord, alonson, pellston.

but those are a lot farther to drive.

one of the big benefits of staying down in the SW corner was i can get there in 4 hrs.

Whitestar is this weekend. dustin wants to go pick up a couple sleds to flip.
(we do this every year, buy a couple at the auction, bring them home and service them and sell them with the first snowfall)
anybody else going??

Houghton was cool 10 mile-across lake, I became friends with the owner of some cottages up there. Took us out riding.

Lake was a deathtrap - open water allover. There was about 4 inches of snow on the ground. Not the best conditions.

Nope, not joing the 800 XCR club. I think I'm done with speed for the time being .... that's why I'm thinking twin.

NEW NEW stuff too. I can dump my sled for a halfway decent amount and I have contacts at HSBC, Chase, etc who hopefully will take some NICE NEW 06 or 07 POLARIS sleds away from unpaying customers (REPO). If this works the way I want I will end up with a loan for like $2k on an 06 model year sled. I already got approved for $15k. GF didn't like that I already got approved and just need to find it... she says I need to "look at the big picture" I said "I look at the medium to medium-big picture" She said no, no you don't. Dammit she's usually right with this stuff. But I really really want it. And like she said last night, I'm a big boy and can make my own decisions.... it's just a matter of how pissed she'll be with me.

Oh, she said I could definately do it if I sold her sled too (WTF?) but I won't entertain that idea becuase Jeff will drive down here and cut my balls off.

Flashy thingy? That flash you're trying to integrate is Macromedia Flashplayer - it doesn't make the words flash...

Google BBCode.

Issue #742 - red X's for buttons....

The code is integrated - those 5 are for streaming video into a post (YAY) that one all the way to the right is so you can hide certain parts of a post from guests - like if you put your contact info on a post.

Buttons are ugly becuase it's looking in the wrong place for them. I have bigger fish to fry right now, lol.

Bulldog - I have it disabled for now - security risk. Although I do have all my patches and stuff up - so maybe I will allow it.

Ultra - I kinda like the XLT...

I'm resurrecting this thread. IF SW. L gets what we're hoping for (1-3) on top of the 5 they have.... I'm there. Anyone else in?

I suppose I could trailer over there.

Pray for the lake effect machine to get carried away. If we get 4" more it'll be ridable. But the trail system will get tore up very fast. If we get the snow I'll see what my back country trails are like. If there is snow there only locals use them so they won't be tore up.

How does that heavy pig ditchbang bryan? The sled that is lol.

Not so well? I haven't really tried very much with it. I can handle it I'm sure. The XLT may just be the way to go then. The TXL-Indy does really well in the twisties too...
